Newfoundlandshund, Terre-neuve, Terranova, Neufundländer, Newfoundlandinkoira
The Newfoundland is a large working breed, traditionally used for water rescue and draft work. While coat colors can include black, brown, gray, or white-and-black (Landseer), the Canadian standard recognizes only black (including black with white markings) and white-and-black as correct, reflecting the breed’s heritage.
