The Samoyed is a large spitz-type breed from Siberia, Russia, originally developed by the Samoyede people for herding reindeer, pulling sleds, and guarding their nomadic camps. It has a thick white double coat, a characteristic “smiling” expression, and a friendly, gentle, and hardworking temperament, prized for endurance in extreme cold and strong companionship.
