Basset Hound
The Basset Hound originated from short-legged scent hounds in continental Europe, bred to track rabbits and hare on foot, and the breed was later refined and popularized in England during the 19th century. Today it is kept mostly as a companion dog, though it still participates in scent tracking and hunting activities thanks to its powerful nose.
