Tibetan Mastiff
Do-khyi, Tibetansk Mastiff, Dogue du Tibet, Dogo del Tibet, Tibet-Dogge, Mastino Tibetano, Tiibetinmastiffi
The Tibetan Mastiff, or Do Khyi, is an ancient working breed of the nomadic herders of the Himalaya and a traditional guardian of Tibetan monasteries. Independent, protective, and commanding respect, it is intensely loyal to its family and territory; though commonly called a “mastiff,” it is more accurately described as a Tibetan or Himalayan mountain dog, with regional variations across Central Asia.
