Cairn Terrier
Cairnterrier, Cairnterrieri
The Cairn Terrier is one of the oldest and most beloved terrier breeds, originating in the Scottish Highlands in the 16th century. Originally bred to hunt and dig out small game, particularly foxes and burrowing rodents, it was named after the "cairns" (stone piles) where it would often work. With its energetic, curious nature and distinctive wiry coat, the Cairn Terrier became a popular companion dog.
