The Greater Swiss Mountain Dog is a large, heavy-boned Swiss breed with remarkable strength, yet retains the agility necessary for traditional all-purpose farm work. Distinguished by its black, white, and rust coat, it is sociable, calm, active, and dignified, thriving as a devoted family companion. The oldest and largest of the Sennenhunde. It is relatively healthy compared with other breeds of similar size.
