Kennel Club hosts KoiraExpo at the Rantasipi Airport Congress Center in Vantaa, February 6-7, 2016. The annual KoiraExpo features training and lecture events. The weekend program has been published, and it contains a diverse selection of interesting lectures. This year, the program is designed specifically for new committee members, but the event is open to all members of the Kennel Club. The youth theme for 2016 is also reflected in KoiraExpo program, where the theme of the lectures is approached from the perspective of youth.

Breed-Specific Statistics: What can insurance statistics tell us?
In collaboration with NKK, Agria invites you to a free evening seminar.
Dr. Brenda Bonnett, CEO of the International Partnership for Dogs (IPFD) and researcher for Agria, comes to speak about her research on insurance statistics.
Dr. Bonnett’s lecture will cover the following points:
The seminar is suitable for everyone who works with Dog Breeding: RAS administrators and Breeding Committee, governs the breed clubs, breeders and veterinarians (also students). The lecture will be in English.
When: February 22, 2016, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. (includes a break with snacks). This is the Monday after NKK show in Bø, so travel may be combined.
Where: Community Auditorium at veterinary school (Adamstua, Oslo)

Brachycephalic dogs that are sound and healthy, it is a fiction or are they? How can we use the greater theoretical knowledge in practice? On February 27, 2016 the Swedish Kennel Club hosts a conference for breeders and breed clubs.
Time: Saturday, February 27, 2016
Place: Scandic Infra City, Upplands Väsby
Goal: The conference will lead to common values on how the increased awareness of brachycephalia should be used (in the ring and in the breeding) to secure the soundness of preserved breed characteristics.
Affected breeds: brachycephalic breeds mentioned in the SRD (e.g., Pug, French Bulldog, English Bulldog, Boston Terrier).
Intended for: Breeders and breed club representatives of the relevant breeds.
Conference Content: Presentation of the current situation regarding issues in brachycephalics. We see few positive effects of the increasing knowledge and its application in shows and breeding. Shed light and clarify the breed-specific differences based on available knowledge. Experience and dialogue between the breeder/outside judges and veterinary and international expertise.
Lecturers: Dr. Gerhard Oechtering, a professor at Leipzig University, Dr. David Sargan, Cambridge, University; Dr. Brenda Bonnett, IPFD; Penny Rankine-Parsons, president of the French Bulldog Club of England; Dr. Göran Bodegård and Dr. Åke Hedhammar, Sweden, and others. The lectures will partially take place in English.

Participation fee: The participation fee is 400. The fee includes refreshments (morning and afternoon) and lunch. You will be billed in arrears.
