The Bernese Mountain Dog Club of Great Britain did a survey in 1998, the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America (BMDCA) has done surveys in 1994, 2000 and 2005. Another source is the Report from the Kennel Club/British Small Animal Veterinary Association Scientific Committee. There are differences in methodology and findings.
