    UK: Bio-Acquisition Research Collaboration (BARC): A facility which helps bring researchers and clinicians together with regards to research projects, allowing more collaboration of ideas, information, and providing a platform to advertise requests for required samples.

    ukbarc.pngCurrent exchange requests are listed including researcher contact information: requests may include breed specific, multi-breed or all breed DNA samples, cheek swab samples, no samples required - online questionnaire only, etc.


     A searchable database containing detailed information for ongoing research for breeds/conditions.

    Below is just one sample of a research project covered on the Kennel Club's B.A.R.C. collaboration - this project focused on investigation of Brachycephalic respiratory function.


    See the Brachycephalic breed research ( "Non-invasive respiratory function assessment in brachycephalic dogs -- Aims to characterize respiratory function in brachycephalic dogs and to investigate the genetic and anatomical markers that are related to brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome. "
