Harmonization of Genetic Testing for Dogs Resource Goes Live!

harmonization-of-genetic-testing-for-dogs-2-12-2018.pngWe're excited to announce the launch of Phase 1 of the Harmonization of Genetic Testing for Dogs (HGTD) initiative, a free online resource designed to support owners, breeders, veterinarians, and dog health and welfare specialists in the appropriate selection and use of DNA testing in dogs.

The HGTD Database includes an initial group of 18 Genetic Test Providers (GTPs), and we're working to expand our roster of GTPs in the near future. Follow the links below for more details:

How to use the HGTD resources:

The HGTD is comprised of two major components: the Quality Testing Database and Genetic Counselling resources. We've prepared an article to help you get started using the HGTD resources, which includes instructions and helpful tips on the following:

  • How to use the HGTD
  • To get startedUntitled-1.png
  • Searching by breed
  • What if I'm after breed specific information?
  • Searching by test/disease
  • Search by labs/test providers

We wish to thank our HGTD Leadership Sponsors for their support:
