Our Board and Consulting Team congratulates longtime supporter Ian J. Seath on his appointment to Chairman of The Royal Kennel Club, a Contributing Partner of the International Partnership for Dogs.
In his recent article, Key Insights from the 5th International Dog Health Workshop – My June 2025 “Best of Health” article, Ian shares a summary of key points in IPFD's recently published paper that he feels are of particular relevance to pedigree dog breeders and breed club representatives. With his appointment to Chairman of the RKC, Ian has published the final article in his long-running "Best of Health" series: “Best of Health” – end of an era. We thank Ian for sharing his insights on dog health and supporting IPFD in his thoughtful writings over the past decade!
We look forward to working with Ian and our recently-appointed Board Member ‒ RKC Chief Executive, Jannine Edgar ‒ to further strengthen the bond between our organizations, for the benefit of dogs in the UK and throughout our global community. -
Please join us in welcoming Natalie Tarini to her new role as Executive Director at the Canadian Kennel Club ‒ a Contributing Partner of the International Partnership for Dogs. We look forward to working with Natalie and the CKC toward our shared goal of improving the health and well-being of dogs in Canada and beyond!

June 2025 Virtual Dog Health Forum:
Event Recap / Downloadable Report With Summary
of Collective Next Steps & Proposed Actions
To our brilliant speakers, generous Lead Sponsor Royal Canin, and committed stakeholders from across our global dog community: We extend our heartfelt thanks for sharing your time, perspectives, and resources to make the first-ever Virtual Dog Health Forum a resounding success! And we look forward to seeing you in person at the 6th IDHW in Bologna, Italy, in 2026. Stay tuned for details!
Event Recap:
IPFD joined approximately 150 key stakeholders in the dog world ‒ including the same brilliant thought leaders who led discussions at the 5th International Dog Health Workshop (IDHW) in Helsinki, Finland ‒ for our 2025 Virtual Dog Health Forum.
Building upon the momentum from the 5th IDHW, the Forum facilitated ongoing conversations on key issues in dog health and well-being, refocused collaborative work on action items from the Helsinki workshop, and set the stage for the 6th IDHW in Bologna, Italy in 2026 (co-hosted by IPFD Contributing Partner, Ente Nazionale della Cinofilia Italiana (ENCI) ‒ the Italian Kennel Club).
We have posted several recorded presentations from the Virtual Dog Health Forum, shared with permission by the respective speakers. More presentations will be posted soon.
Forum Report: Summary of Collective Next Steps and Proposed Actions
Authored by IPFD staff and workshop theme leaders and facilitators, the report summarizes key discussion points for each of the four Forum/IDHW themes and identifies priorities and planned actions. Click here for details and to download the report.
