The mission of the Finnish Dachshund Association is:
- Promotes the breeding of the breed and the preservation of the breed in its original type and purpose
- Organizes dog shows and hunting trials by itself or through its member associations
- Responsible for training the necessary judges and maintaining their qualifications
- Educates on dog breeding and breed issues
- Keeps in touch with the Finnish Kennel Club, other breed organizations, Nordic parallel organizations and the breed's homeland
- compile information on the country?s dachshund population and arrange for data to be published
